Ice Lantern Festival Vuollerim program
The Ice lantern Festival always starts on the first Wednesday of February.
Preliminary program.
Wednesday
10 am Placing the ice lanterns.
Starting point: Lapland Vuollerim Activity Center, Bodenvägen 13 in the center of Vuollerim.
From 2 pmThe sauna is ready and heated at Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet. **
3 pm Lighting the ice lanterns in the village center. Welcome to come and join!
4-8 pm Cake buffet at Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet.
Eat as much as you like from a gigantic amount of home made cakes and biscuits. 95 SEK including coffee & tea.
6 pm Official opening of this year’s ice lantern installation in the Laestadius park between Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet and Porsi Bygg, in the center of Vuollerim.
6.30-9 pm This year’s first barbecue night at Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet.

6.30-10 pm The special Vuollerim House-Jumping dinner.

09-10 am Make your own ice lantern -course. *
Starting point: Lapland Vuollerim Activity Center, Bodenvägen 13 in the center of Vuollerim.
11 am Snow knowledge and winter ecology*
Learn how to read tracks in the snow, what type of snow it is and how the Sami people have many different words for snow. Different types of snow can leave different tracks with varying visibility. Learn how to read these tracks to tell the types of animals that have passed through. A very interesting activity that teaches valuable skills that are known by few people in todays society. Clothing: according to outside temperature and weather.

4-9 pm Local craft´s is to be bought at Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet.
6-9 pm Bomyrbergets Ski Resort and the cafeteria will be open. If it’s colder than -20°C or to less snow the ski resort is closed.
6-9 pm Reindeer and Moose dinner at Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet. The bar is open during the evening.

A festive evening with local delicacies from the Arctic Artisan Food House and Vuollerim Farm. The local Vuollerimrole, Swedish Mountain Cattle-products, Almond potatoes, locally produced cheese, yogurt and more.

** The sauna is ready and heated at Hotel Vuollerim Gästgiveriet. First come, first served. 50 SEK per person.
Make an appointment at the reception. Also possible to book a sauna basket.
*** Northern Lights hike. The Northern Lights occur year round but are only visible when the sky is dark and clear. Follow on a winter hike through beautiful snowy scenes and look for constellations and the magical Northern Lights. Pre-book the day before at Lapland Vuollerim, +46 (0)976-100 30.
